What My Creative Weeks Actually Look Like
There’s this idea that creativity is spontaneous.
That it just happens when inspiration hits.
And sometimes it does.
But most of the time… it doesn’t.
somewhere between structure & flow
My weeks aren’t perfectly balanced.
They’re not aesthetic or perfectly planned out.
They’re real.
I work a full-time job.
I get tired.
Some days I have energy, and some days I don’t.
And my creative life exists inside all of that.
working with what I have
I’ve learned that if I wait for the “perfect time” to create, it doesn’t happen.
So instead, I build small pockets of time.
A little here.
A little there.
Sometimes it’s working on my site.
Sometimes it’s editing photos.
Sometimes it’s just organizing ideas or writing something down for later.
part of the process
I use my planner a lot—not to control everything, but to give myself direction.
A place to land.
Some weeks I follow it closely.
Some weeks I don’t.
And that’s okay.
letting it shift
There’s a balance I’m always figuring out—between structure and flexibility, between productivity and rest.
Especially right now, while I’m building this Studio and figuring out what that looks like in real life.
not every day looks the same
Some days are for creating.
Some days are for resting.
Some days are just about getting through.
And all of that is part of it.
building something over time
This isn’t about doing everything at once.
It’s about showing up when I can.
Working with the energy I have.
Letting things build slowly over time.
and that’s enough
If you’re trying to create something while balancing real life too…
You’re not behind.
You’re just building it in your own way.
